Candidates must be dependable, self-motivated, accuracy oriented person and must have complete knowledge of irrigation installation, troubleshooting, service & repair. This is a non-exempt position, which is skilled work that requires significant knowledge and skills related to irrigation installation and maintenance of all irrigation systems. Work is reviewed by the supervisor through direct observation while work is in progress and upon completion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of complex irrigation system.

Responsible for installation of time clocks that operate irrigation systems.

Responsible for making necessary repairs and adjustments to maintain all systems in proper working condition.

May compile and submit reports and records on conditions of all systems.

Responsible for the inventory of parts, supplies and equipment of irrigation systems.

Conducts regular system inspections.

Maintain irrigation systems including winterizing the systems and starting them up in spring.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast paced environment

Strong work ethic and willingness to travel

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience with irrigation service along with variable references.

Considerable knowledge in the field of irrigation, installation, maintenance and repairs.

Knowledge of the occupational hazards of the trade and of the proper use of safety practices.

Ability to maintain records and submit reports on conditions of all irrigation systems.

Must have a valid driver’s license

Ability to interpret irrigation plans.

Ability to inventory parts, supplies and equipment of irrigation systems.

Ability to operate various pieces of maintenance equipment.

Ability to understand and carry out instructions and to complete work assignments correctly.
